Well, hey there

I’m Eliza—writer, creative strategist, certified yoga instructor, former college admissions counselor, and someone who thrives at the intersection of storytelling and strategy.

My Story

My career path has never been a straight line, but it’s always been guided by the same core drive: making meaningful connections through clear, engaging communication. Whether I’m presenting to a packed room of prospective students and parents (with a joke or two along the way), shaping a nonprofit’s donor messaging, or guiding a high school senior through the art of the personal statement, I bring both empathy and expertise to the table.

I’m also a 200-hour certified yoga instructor and have been teaching since 2018, everywhere from intimate one-on-one sessions to high-energy classes of 50+ students. This experience has sharpened my ability to read the room, offer grounded presence, and meet people exactly where they are—skills that echo through my work in writing, consulting, and public speaking.

A few things I’m really good at:
  • Writing that connects. I translate complex ideas into words that resonate—whether it’s a college essay, a donor appeal, or a brand story.

  • College admissions know-how. After years in admissions and reading over 25,000 essays, I know how to cut through the noise and help students tell their story with confidence.

  • Creative direction for mission-driven work. I’ve led major nonprofit events, built campaign messaging from scratch, and turned storytelling into strategy.

  • Public speaking with personality. I’ve been called “divine,” “hilarious,” and “like Tina Fey,” which I take to mean I know how to hold a room and leave an impression.

  • Grounded, mindful leadership. Whether I’m leading a yoga class or facilitating a high-stakes meeting, I bring calm, warmth, and just enough humor to keep things human.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing (fiction is my first love), a background in theatre (because drama!), and years of experience working with nonprofits and students alike. I'm also a big believer in doing serious work without taking yourself too seriously. Humor and warmth matter, especially when navigating high-stakes moments—college applications, fundraising deadlines, the dreaded blinking cursor on a blank page.

If you're here because you're looking for writing help, admissions guidance, or a creative partner who can bring ideas to life with clarity and heart—you’re in the right place.
